Matt has over 22 years of Land Surveying experience and 16 as a Licensed Professional Surveyor. He has worked in all levels of surveying throughout his career including survey crew assistant, crew chief, assistant group director, CAD technician, GPS survey specialist, and worked in a survey group management position for 15 years before joining D&A in 2023. He is well versed in ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey, boundary and land division survey computations and analysis, site design surveys, preparation of legal descriptions for surveys and easements, construction surveying and staking, FEMA Letter of Map Amendment and Elevation Certificate surveys, and road right of way determinations. Matt provides a wide variety of surveying services to support residential, commercial, municipal, and institutional design and construction projects. Currently, he serves as the Survey Group Manager at D&A’s Kalamazoo office, with duties including client maintenance and development, survey department budgeting, department oversight, project estimating, scheduling, and survey computations as well as crew chief duties.

Matt is a born Yooper originally from Calumet, Michigan. He grew up in Holland, Michigan, lived throughout Southwest Michigan for most of his adult life, and has called Coloma home for the last 15 years. He is married to his wife of 8 years, Jenna, and has 2 stepdaughters and 2 stepsons (three adults and one in high school).
Matt enjoys playing disc golf, golf, ice hockey, and video games. He also enjoys hiking and exploring southwest Michigan’s parks and nature preserves. Additionally, he likes attending concerts and social/cultural events. Matt also enjoys watching and attending sporting events, including his stepson’s high school football games. Lastly, he enjoys cooking, grilling, and home improvement projects and yard work.
